Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin's overseas business trips are on the rise.

Since he was re-elected in the June 13 local elections last year, he has traveled overseas eight times. He travels abroad more than once a month for seven months. 

In particular, the mayor, who was in charge of correction, has been on a business trip to foreign countries despite the tap water crisis caused by the detection of the harmful substance, perfluid compound, and the outbreak of diseases such as measles and respiratory cell convergence virus (RSV). 

According to Daegu City, Mayor Kwon attended 'International Electronics Show (CES) 2019' that was held in Las Vegas for six days from July 7 to 12.

He held meetings for co-prosperity development in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province and signed a memorandum of understanding with self-driving company Saudi Arabia.

However, the number of confirmed cases of measles in Daegu during this period has increased from three infants less than 12 months old to 13 as of July 12, and the number of people with infectious respiratory disease, RSV, has increased continuously.

After winning the local elections last year, Kwon attended the World Gas General Assembly (WGC) held in Washington D.C. for three nights and four days from June 25 to 28.

In June last year, the Daegu tap water source in the Nakdonggang River was found to be five times higher than that of tap water in Seoul, raising public anxiety about the water they eat.
